Farrell Eugene Knoche, 90, of Hutchinson, went to his heavenly home on September 22, 2026. He was born August 15, 1936, in Hutchinson, to Edward and Bessie (Evans) Knoche.

Farrell was co-founder of Knoche Farms of Abbyville with his brother, Darwin. He farmed in the Abbyville and Plevna community for 65 years, from 1950-2015.

Farrell graduated from Abbyville High School in 1954 and attended Hutchinson Community College. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1958-1965. Farrell served on many Reno County committees and boards including Abbyville Christian Church, Abbyville Farmers Co-op Grain Co., Plevna Co-op, Westminster and Huntsville Townships Board of Supervisors, and New Covenant Presbyterian Church, where he was a member at the time of his death.

Farrell married Betty L. Ireton on November 27, 1960. They had one son, Stephen Knoche, and Betty passed away on June 19, 1988.

Farrell married Pamela (Smith) Miller on May 10, 1997. She had one son, Jeffrey Miller.

After retirement from farming, Farrell enjoyed traveling with Pam on many bus trips across the country, including a Fall foliage bus trip to the Northeast unfortunately before the change in color of the trees. While at home he enjoyed watching his favorite football teams and going to Sonrise Guys Bible Study at New Covenant. Farrell also enjoyed community concerts, HCC basketball games, NJCAA National Basketball Tournament, music theater productions at Century II in Wichita, and always checking on the farming in Abbyville.

Farrell is survived by his loving wife, Pam; son, Stephen Knoche (Kimberly) of Davenport, Iowa; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hardesty (Ryan) and great-grandchildren, Levi and Olivia of Des Moines, Iowa; step-grandsons, Isaac Trapkus (Suzy Kim) and Paul Trapkus (Ruth) with Jonah and Lyra; stepson, Jeff Miller (Lynette) of Hutchinson; step-granddaughter, Paige Marks (Kevin) and their children, Evie, Piper, and Theo; step-granddaughter, Morgan Miller; brother-in-law, Mike Smith (Carolyn) of White Rock, New Mexico; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Knoche; and brother, Darwin Knoche.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2026, at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 700 E 25th Ave., Hutchinson. The service will be livestreamed on the church’s website: https://www.newcovenantpc.net/

Burial will follow in Abbyville Cemetery.

Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday thru Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. the day of the service at the church.
