Verma Faye Spencer, 85, of Buhler, died January 23, 2020, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community. She was born January 22, 1935, in Centerville, TX, the daughter of Johnnie and Jewel (Tabor) Hodder.

On December 28, 1951, Faye married Raymond 'J.C.' Spencer in Crockett, TX.

Faye worked for Kroger in their Houston distribution center for 35 years. She was a member of Victorious Life Church, Hutchinson. Faye enjoyed activities at Delos V. Smith Senior Center, Hutchinson, and volunteering at Grand Staff Thrift Boutique in Buhler. She also enjoyed volunteering at Elmdale Community Center, Hutchinson.

Faye is survived by: children, Patsie Scott (Leroy), Diboll, TX; Tracy Spencer (Becky), Buhler; grandchildren, Sara Nowlan (Danny), Nathan Spencer (Diana), Anna Spencer, all of Hutchinson, Ben Spencer (Amy), Brownstown, MI; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Yvonne Abbott, Weatherford, TX; and many nieces, nephews, cousins.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and five siblings.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2020, at Victorious Life Church, 1200 E. 10th Ave., Hutchinson. Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2020, in Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
