Florence Louise Newburn, 86, died Sept. 8, 2007, at Golden Plains Health Care Center, Hutchinson.
She was born March 2, 1921, in Newton, the daughter of William H. and Hannah M. Lindahl Stewart. A resident of Partridge, formerly a longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a beauty operator.
She belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Bob Campbell Post No. 1361 Auxiliary.
On Oct. 4, 1937, she married Floyd Newburn in Newton. He died June 10, 1999.
Survivors include: a son, Bill, Leavenworth; a daughter, Hannah Hoefer, Partridge; a brother, Lloyd Stewart, Folsom, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise; two brothers, Pete and Ralph Stewart; two sisters, Caroline Turpen and Peggy Dennis; and two grandsons, Tim and Joe Fenton.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. September 17 at Golden Plains Health Care Center with Chaplain Art Maddock presiding. Burial will be at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the register from noon to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The casket will remain closed.
