Florence M. Stucky Hayes, 92, died Jan. 12, 2006, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Sept. 12, 1913, in Pretty Prairie, the daughter of Peter G. and Elizabeth Kaufman Stucky. She graduated from Castleton High School and Hutchinson Junior College. She lived at Clinton, Okla., for 50 years, moving to Hutchinson in 2002. She was a trust officer for the First National Bank and Trust, Clinton, Okla.
She belonged to United Methodist Church, Clinton, Okla. She was active in the Republican Women's Party and was a 1964 delegate to the Republican National Convention in San Francisco. She was also active in numerous other civic organizations in Clinton.
On July 24, 1935, she married Ernest James Hayes in Wichita. He died March 19, 1966.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jeanine Zenge and husband Michael, Albuquerque, N.M., and Sherry Hayes, Hutchinson; a sister, Ruth Galle, Moundridge; two grandchildren, Peter Zenge and wife Jeanne, Phoenix, and Garth Holloway, San Diego; and a great-grandson, Colin Zenge, Phoenix.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Victor E. Stucky.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Lone Star Cemetery, with the Rev. Sarah Davis Blodgett presiding. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Reno County or Meals on Wheels, Clinton, Okla., both in care of the funeral home.
