Floyd Robert "Bob" Stringfellow, 89, of Hutchinson, died December 22, 2021, at his home. He was born April 3, 1932, in Goodland, to Floyd R. and Marjorie V. (Domitrovich) Stringfellow.

Bob attended Coats schools and graduated from Kansas Technical Institute. He served in the United States Army from 1950-52 and served in Korea, where he was wounded twice and received the Purple Heart. Bob worked as a mechanical engineer and was the maintenance foreman and head of refrigeration at Dillons warehouse, until he retired in 1997.

Bob was a devoted husband and father who always put his family first. He loved crossword puzzles, working with his hands, fixing broken things, and finding a bargain. Bob was of the Catholic faith.

On November 16, 1955, he married Lavina S. Rausch, in Sharon. They shared nearly 34 years of marriage before her death on June 19, 1989.

Bob is survived by: his children, Ryan Stringfellow (Shonna) of Wichita, Rene Thompson (Roland), Russell Stringfellow (Jennifer), Rachelle Schrag (Adam); daughter-in-law, Becky Stringfellow, all of Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Robert; brother, Donnie; and sister, Tootie McKnight.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Elliott Chapel, with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Church Cemetery, Sharon, at a later date. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, at Elliott Mortuary.
