Obituary

NICKERSON – Floyd Michael Smith, 63, entered the presence of his Lord on Nov. 23, 2014, at his home in Nickerson. He was born Aug. 16, 1951, in Hutchinson, to Eugene R. and Helen I. (Keffer) Smith.

Floyd graduated from Nickerson High School and went to electrical school to become a journeyman electrician. He was a union member of NEBF and IBEW and a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed reading, woodworking, and being a gun collector.

He married Gayle Falke and they later divorced. He then married NelLouise Hager on Feb. 16, 1991, in Hutchinson. Survivors include: wife, NelLouise Smith of the home; sons, Jake T. Smith and wife Joy of Nickerson, and Jeremiah P. Smith and wife Nicci of Hutchinson; stepsons, Danny Hager and Chuck Hager of Nickerson; grandchildren, Tyler and Asher Smith of Nickerson, Anni Smith of Hutchinson; parents, Beans and Helen Smith of Nickerson; sisters, Terry Luman and husband Mike of Nickerson, and Janice Davis of Duncan, Ariz.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at First Church of the Nazarene, 43rd and Monroe, Hutchinson, with the Reverends Doug Wyatt and Randall S. Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday with family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
