Frances A. Armstrong, 88, died Oct. 3, 2005, in Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson.
She was born Dec. 16, 1916, in Loveland, Colo., the daughter of W.R. and Myrtle America Cochrane Sutor. She graduated from Baldwin High School and Lawrence Business College. A Hutchinson resident since 1945, she was a retired personnel manager for the former Wiley's Department Store.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church.
On May 2, 1942, she married N.J. "Novie" Armstrong in Ft. Leavenworth. He died Dec. 22, 1999.
Survivors include: a son, Douglas Armstrong and wife Christine, Hutchinson; a brother, Keith Sutor, Grandview, Mo.; a sister, Margaret Eilts, Lawrence; three grandchildren, Garland Shuff and wife Sara, Angela R. Thomas and husband Ed, Autumn D. Westfall and husband Ryan; three great-grandchildren, Molly Thomas, Sam Thomas and Tyler Westfall.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Vernon, William and Revere; and three sisters, Vera, Nina and Lucille.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
