Frances Caroline Day, 88, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Mennonite Friendship Communities. She was born April 17, 1926, in Saline County, the daughter of Walter and Agda Marie Lindahl Johnson.
She was a 1944 graduate of Assaria High School, a 1960 graduate of Bethany College, Lindsborg and a member of Evangelical Covenant Church. On Aug. 6, 1950, she married William Ward Day at Evangelical Covenant Church, Lindsborg. He survives. She is also survived by a foster son, William Lloyd and his family of Flowery Branch, Ga.; and a sister-in-law, Stella Johnson of Gibsonia, Pa. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edsel Johnson.
Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Saline County, with Pastors Jeff Waugh and Darrell Cooper presiding. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the church or The Gideons International, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
