Frances Marie Day, 83, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson. She was born June 6, 1935, in rural McPherson County, the daughter of Frank Marion and Fern Marie (Holmes) Jordan.
Frances was a graduate of Lindsborg High School. She and her husband Marion, rode and trained horses for many years. They were founding members of the Sandhill Saddle Club and owned Marion Day Excavating for over 35 years. Her greatest joy later in life were her grandchildren, her horses, and her dog.
On August 3, 1956, Frances married Marion Carl Day in Phillipsburg. He died May 10, 2008. Surviving are: children, Danette Chermak and husband Andy, Justin Day, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Kaycee Chermak and finance' Evan Slater of Florence, Becky Combs and husband Casey of Hutchinson, Heather Roberds and husband Dakota of Lubbock, TX, and Tyler Day of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Thelma Corley; brothers, Lloyd, Billy and Leroy Jordan.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, SE of Pretty Prairie, with Pastor John Branson presiding. Friends may sign her book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary.
