Frances Garnetta Henderson-Ewertz, 99, of Hutchinson, died October 7, 2019, at Hutchinson Health and Rehab. She was born February 24, 1920, in Haven, to McCellan and Ella Edna (Prene) Harris, Sr.

Frances graduated from Haven High School in 1938. She worked for Underground Vaults and Storage, Collingwood Grain, and Long's of Hutchinson as a sales clerk. Frances enjoyed sewing, making quilts, visiting with her customers, and playing her handheld electronic Poker game. She was loving, giving, and nurturing. Her two grandsons held a special place in her heart, and Frances enjoyed being involved in their lives. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

On November 30, 1941, Frances married Harold Henderson in Haven. He died May 24, 1984. On January 23, 1993, she married Sylvester 'Bud' Ewertz in Hutchinson. He died April 25, 2003.

Frances is survived by: daughter, Pam Thompson of Herington; grandsons, Seth Stramel of Denver, CO, Ramsey Stramel of Mineola, TX; and brothers, Gene Harris and wife Agnes of Haven and Norval Harris and wife Dallas of Norwich.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Clifford, Merle, Mac, Lloyd, Wayne; sisters, Emma Carmichael, Carmelita Wilson, Zelpha Koch; and son-in-law, Shawn Thompson.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019, at First United Methodist Church, 101 E. 1st, Hutchinson, with Pastor Mic McGuire officiating. Private family burial will take place in Sego Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
