Obituary

Frances L. (Gould) Koop, 88, died April 3, 2013, at Hospice House. She was born April 2, 1925, to Eugene Charles and Ida Witte Gould in Ulysses, KS. She was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ and was involved with the Ladies Bible Class. Frances was also a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68 and V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361. She was a cosmetologist and restaurant entrepreneur having several restaurants, including Mr. K's Steakhouse, and the Rambler.

On March 26, 1946, she married Herman H. Koop in Kingman.

Survivors include: son, Robert Koop, Kirbyville, Mo.: sister, Helen Pleasant, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Tammy Rivera, Hutchinson, Misty MacKay, Monterey, Calif., Kristy Ward, Oskaloosa, and Robert Jo Koop Jr., Curtis Koop, and Doug Koop, all of Eldon, Mo.; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herman Koop, son, Kenneth Koop, five brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday April 11, 2013, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Jimie-Wray Mead presiding. Friends may call Tuesday 5 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House, or Eastwood Church of Christ, all in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS, 67501.
