TULSA, Okla. - Frances Joan McGuire, 90, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Hutchinson, died Oct. 27, 2012, in Tulsa.
Frances was born Nov. 22, 1921, at Coffeyville, the daughter of Elva F. and Blanche Overfield Chambers.
Frances was a salesclerk for Wiley's Dept. Store, and later worked as a hostess at Rambler Restaurant. She was a 1939 graduate of Hutchinson High School and a member of Westbrook Baptist Church, prior to moving to Okla.
Frances married James F. McGuire on Nov. 11, 1939. He died Nov. 24, 2002.
Survivors include: a daughter, Marcy Blackford and husband Earl of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Tom McGuire and wife DeeAnn of Hutchinson; five grandchildren, Ryan McGuire of Bentonville, Ark., Kelly Nelson of Hutchinson, Adam Blackford of Wichita, Beau Blackford and Mack Blackford, both of Tulsa, Okla.; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Candace; and four brothers, Lowell, Eugene, Robert, and John Chambers.
Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Bob Shelton presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
