Frances M Rice's Obituary
Frances M. Rice, 96, passed away June 20, 2013, at Hospice House of Reno County. She was born June 21, 1916, in Jet, Okla., to Sam and Zepha Metcalf.
On July 1, 1944, she married C. Ray Rice of Nickerson. He died Dec. 11, 2001. She was a long time resident of Nickerson, a homemaker and a loving, caring mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Eastwood Church of Christ, Hutchinson.
Frances is survived by; her two sons and their spouses, Dennis and Karen Rice of Nickerson, and Steve and Marian Rice of Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Britt Rice of Nickerson, Chad Rice and Brandi of Mt. Hope, Jason Rice and Sara of San Antonio, Texas, and Ashley Howry and Steve of Antioch, Calif.; two step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a step great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Duane Eggleston and Jimie-Wray Mead officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with family present from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Memorials may be given to the Silver Maple Camp of Eastwood Church of Christ or Hospice House of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main Hutchinson, KS 67501.
