Fran White, born Feb. 14, 1918, in Mt. Vernon, Ill., died Sept. 17, 2012, in Hutchinson, Kan.
She was the daughter of Logan and Adele Mayfield. She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Harriet, Margaret, and June.
She married Ross E. Stewart Jan. 29, 1939. He died in 1968. She married Dale W. White on Dec. 29, 1979. He currently resides in Wesley Towers, Hutchinson, Kan.
Fran retired as Administrative Assistant from First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, Kan., having run the office for about 30 years. She and her family were members there as long as they resided in Hutchinson. Fran was a graduate of Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson Community College, and Adela Hale Business School.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; daughters, Rosslyn Scamehorn (Lee), and Lexie Stremel (Bob); granddaughter, Amy Hays (Bryon); grandson, Stewart Stremel (Darla); and two great-granddaughters, Rowan and Keira Hays; stepdaughter, Kathy Bodenhamer (John); and stepson, Bill White (Linda).
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel, Sherman and Poplar, Hutchinson, Kan., with Reverend Mike Herring officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. The family requests no flowers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley Towers Good Samaritan Fund or Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. Private inurnment will be held at Fairlawn Burial Park, prior to the memorial service.
