Frank Clarence Stecklein, 88, died March 20, 2007, at Golden Plains Health Care Center, Hutchinson.
He was born Oct. 6, 1918, in Ness City, the son of Andrew and Rosa Dinges Stoecklein. A resident of Hutchinson since 1957, he was a mechanic for Detroiter Mobile Homes, Wesley Towers and McDonalds retiring in 1998.
He belonged to St. Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On May 25, 1943, he married Josephine L. Legleiter in Liebenthal. She died Aug. 31, 2006.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary L. and Daniel P. and wife, Gail, all of Hutchinson; three sisters, Helen Rohr, Great Bend, Lenora Springer, Denver and Sister Lillian, Wichita; and a grandson, Daniel P. Stecklein Jr.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Edgar, Paul, Harry and Marvin Stecklein; and four sisters, Frieda Urieta, Ida Weilert, Helen Stecklein and Viola Stecklein.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson, with Father Stuart M. Smeltzer presiding. Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Visitation is from 12 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
