Frank L. Thomas, 85, died Dec. 4, 2009, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.
He was born on Nov. 8, 1924, in Wellington to George and Lena Thomas.
He was a graduate of Wellington High School and the University of Colorado.
He was a retired civil engineer with the Kansas Department of Transportation.
He was a member of Park Place Christian Church.
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
On June 6, 1956, he married Leola M. Schneider. She survives. Other survivors include: a sister, JoAnn Patterson, Eagle, Colo.; and a nephew, Steve Sparman, and a niece, ReeAnn Williams, both of Washington.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Sparman.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Friends may sign the book Sunday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Wellington.
