Fred D. Dugger, 72, and Diane K. 'Ane' Dugger, 70, died together on April 2, 2019, while traveling through Harrison, Arkansas in their RV. Fred was born January 14, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Bert Mansfield and Mary Maxine (Smith) Dugger. Diane was born December 15, 1948, in Hutchinson, to Leo Harold and Vera 'Pauline' (Alumbaugh) Sanders. After Leo died, Pauline married Lynn Gisel.
Fred graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Kansas State University. He retired as an electrical engineer for Eaton Corporation. Diane graduated from Nickerson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. She retired from Kroger, where she worked in the Human Resources Department.
Together, Fred and Diane loved to travel in their RV and were members of the GMC Motorhomes International and The Corner Stone Baptist Church.
While they shared many common interests, they also had individual hobbies. Fred enjoyed science fiction, collecting Hot Wheels, woodworking, model trains, and was a member of Kansas Central Model Railroad Club. Diane was an enthusiastic collector, and enjoyed NASCAR (especially #24, Jeff Gordon). She volunteered for the Fox Theatre, Hutchinson Public Library, CASA, and many other organizations.
Fred and Diane enjoyed over 48 years of friendship and marriage, traveling thousands of miles together in their RV, along with their dogs, Sasha and Sophie.
Fred and Diane are survived by: daughters, Kristina Coleman (Eric), Kimberly Dugger; niece, (who was like a daughter), Patricia (Sanders) Gardner (Linden); grandsons, Ronald 'Isaac' Coleman, Eric 'Drake' Coleman; granddaughters, Kiana Dugger, Arianna Coleman; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Sanders, Tami Sanders, Diane Metzler; one aunt, Patricia Falke; many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends; and their beloved dog, Sasha.
They were preceded in death by: their parents; Diane's stepfather, Lynn Gisel; Diane's brothers, Harold, David, and Steven Sanders; and their dog, Sophie, who died alongside Fred and Diane.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the Fox Theatre, 18 E. 1 st , Hutchinson, with Pastor Larry Wedel officiating. Inurnment will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with a convoy of their GMC Motorhomes International friends. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Fred and Diane Dugger Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
