Fred A. Green, 91, formerly of Hutchinson, died March 22, 2008, at Meadowlark Adult Care Home, Wichita.
He was born Sept. 27, 1916, in Hugo, Okla., the son of William T. and Bertha Head Green. He was an electrician.
He belonged to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 661. He belonged to the First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II.
On Dec. 14, 1940, he married Geneva Carpenter in Hugo, Okla. She died April 14, 1991.
Survivors include: two sons, Mike Green and wife Mary of Valley Center, and Bruce Green and wife Madaline of Lenexa, KS; a daughter, Annell "Ann" Reece and husband Ed of Missouri City, Texas; two brothers, W.T. Green of Hugo, Okla., and Pete Green of California; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Marie Campbell Vasquez, six brothers and a sister.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Gary Salmans presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, with military honors conducted by the U.S. Naval Reserve.
