Freda Louise Troyer, age 95, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS. She was born April 25, 1930, in Hutchinson, to Clifford Elwin and Stella Letia (Hall) Thompson.
Freda was an amazing jack of all trades and could do just about anything. She had a reputation as the best cookie maker around, by her family and friends. Her immense generosity led her to many blood donations throughout her life, donating over 20 gallons of blood for those in need. Above all, Freda stood out as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose love was unmatched.
On March 2, 1948, she married Calvin Jacob Troyer, in Hutchinson. They shared over 66 years of marriage, prior to his death on March 25, 2015.
Freda is survived by: her daughter, Meshelle Troyer; son, Clinton Troyer (Kathy Skinner); grandchildren, Michael (Jasmine) Troyer, Hollyn Troyer (Nathan Evel), Derrick Troyer, Dakota Troyer, and Makayla Troyer; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will 10 a.m. Monday, April 20th, 2026, at Elliott Mortuary chapel. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until day of service at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
