Frederick Leo "Fred" Henks, 83, died Thursday, May 3, 2012. He was born September 21, 1938 to Frederick and Anna Marie Schroeder Henks. Fred retired from Dillons in 1991, after serving the company for 26 years as a truck mechanic.

He married Bernita Lee Kelley on August 4, 1951. She died January 16, 1984.

He is survived by son Richard and wife Kathy Henks of Hutchinson; daughter Gail and husband Dan Stecklein of South Hutchinson; three grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and infant sister.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2012, at Fairview Park Cemetery in St. John, KS with Father Floyd McKinney officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 5-9 and Sunday from 9-9. The family will greet friends Sunday, May 6, from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Kidney Association in care of the mortuary.
