Galen E. Perkins, 91, died April 24, 2006, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born Feb. 15, 1915, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Guy E. and Lottie Rachel Whitson Perkins. A Reno County resident since 1919, he graduated from Partridge High School in 1935. He was a barber, bus driver, and he retired from farming in 1990.
He belonged to Partridge Community Church.
On Nov. 17, 1938, he married M. Alice French in McPherson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Dennis Perkins, Neodesha; two daughters, Jane Burgess and Gail Kroeker, both of Hutchinson; a brother, Gilbert Perkins, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Perkins; a brother, Robert Perkins; and two sisters, Florence Lintecum and Hope Perkins.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Partridge Cemetery, Partridge, with Pastor Lillie DaMetz presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
