Gary P. Geist, 80, of Hutchinson, died February 23, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born January 4, 1944, in Hutchinson, to Wilbur Paul and Willdene (Miller) Geist.

Gary graduated from Boulder High School, Boulder, CO, in 1963. During his life, he worked for Mid America Pipeline and local school districts as a janitor, amongst others. Gary enjoyed camping, fishing, bird watching, and his dogs, Lacy and Pedro. His humor and love will be missed.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Gary was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

On March 27, 1991, he married Janice Pauline Ratlief in Hutchinson. They shared over 32 years of marriage before his passing.

Gary is survived by: his wife, Janice "Jan" Geist, Hutchinson; son, Russell "Rusty Geist, Derago, CO; daughter, Deborah May (Charles) Castinado, Hoover, Alabama; step-son, Don (Cindy) Gruver, Newton, KS; step-daughter, Blythe (Tim) Wilkinson, Hutchinson; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Ray.

Cremation has taken place. There is no service scheduled at this time.
