Gary D. Hornbeck, 76, died October 17, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  He was born January 10, 1943, in Hutchinson, to George and Jane (Hamill) Hornbeck.  Gary attended Hutchinson schools and worked as a machinist at Cessna/Eaton until his retirement.  He loved old cars and dragging Main in his red Chevy short-bed pickup.  Gary had an extensive collection of 50's and 60's music and enjoyed disassembling all types of things.  But most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

On August 5, 1976, Gary married Marilyn Anne Gore in Ozark, MO. They shared 43 years of marriage. She survives.

Also surviving are: son, George and wife Jenna of Kansas City; daughter, Shelley Conner and husband Chad of Marquette; grandchildren, Joshua and Bryce Swisher; great-grandchildren, Logan and Parker Swisher; brothers, Robert Hornbeck, Wayne Hornbeck and wife Rachel, all of Hutchinson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: brothers, Carl, Ray, Oscar, Jim, and Jack Hornbeck; sisters, Roberta King, Helen Frank, Marge Banworth, MaryJane Barkley, and Betty Blanchard.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Gary's life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Elliott Chapel. Friends may sign the memorial book from 1-5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
