Gary Ronald Mezger, age 78, of Wichita, passed away January 8, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita. He was born August 4, 1946, to Lawrence Walter and Esther Agnes (Malone) Mezger.

Gary grew up in Raymond and Macksville, Kansas. They then relocated to Oklahoma where he graduated from Nowata High School. He earned a BS and MS in Engineering from Oklahoma State University. A skilled engineer by profession, Gary worked diligently throughout his career, always taking pride in his work and making meaningful contributions to the projects he was involved in. His strong work ethic and quiet strength left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

On January 27, 1968, he married Nicki Ann Nicholas. They shared over 56 years of marriage. She survives.

Gary was a husband, father, and grandfather, cherished by his sons Kert (Janice) and Derk, and his beloved grandchildren, Bryn and Cole. Other survivors include: his sister, Judy (Mike), and a large extended family who will miss him dearly.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence (1981) and Esther (2009).

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. A private family inurnment was held, January 16, 2025, at Hilltop Cemetery, Raymond, Kansas, where Gary was laid to rest next to his parents.

The Mezger family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks for the love, support, and prayers they have received during this difficult time. They find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, and his legacy of hard work and devotion to family will never be forgotten. His passing leaves a hole in the hearts of his family and friends.
