Obituary

Gary Lee Poulton, 63, of Hutchinson, died Monday, November 13, 2017, at his home. He was born November 2, 1954, in Pratt, the son of G. Norwood and Wanda (Kreger) Poulton. Gary was an entrepreneur, owning and operating Wholesome Meadows Farm, Hutchinson. He was former owner of Hog Wild Pit BBQ and Sub N Stuff. Gary was an avid bicyclist. He was involved in the Tony Robbins Institute and led weekly 'Oneness Blessing' meditations in Wichita. Gary was a former member of Hutchinson AMBUCS and attended Journey@South Hutchinson Mennonite Church.

In July 1981, Gary married Abby Donley in Hutchinson. They later divorced. On March 6, 2014, he married Tamara M. 'Tami' (Rohleder) Rump in the Dominican Republic. She survives.

Other survivors include: son, Derek Poulton of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Amber Poulton of Hutchinson; stepson Brock Rump, of Volcano, HI; grandchildren, Jayden and Riley Caley of Hutchinson; sister, Sharon Taylor of Hutchinson; brother, Jack Poulton of Hutchinson; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Rohleder of Hutchinson; half-sister, Glenda Clements of Alabama; brothers-in-law, Steve Rohleder (Linda) of WaKeeney, Dave Rohleder (Sue) of St. Peter, Pat Rohleder (Karla) of Collyer, Mike Rohleder (Ella) of Denver, CO; sisters-in-law, Clara Unrein (Joe) of Kechi, Roberta Rein of El Dorado; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gary was preceded in death by: his parents; father-in-law, Leonard Rohleder; half-brothers, G.N. 'Skeets' Poulton, Barry Poulton; nephew, Patrick Taylor; and niece, Christina Rohleder.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2017, at Journey@South Hutchinson, 808 S. Poplar, South Hutchinson, with Pastor Eric Miller officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County or Reno County Health Department for WIC, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
