Gary L. Shuff Sr., 78, died April 4, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

He was born Dec. 6, 1931, in Hutchinson, to Elvin and Wilma Bowman Shuff.

He was a life-long Hutchinson resident. He graduated from Hutchinson High School. He worked at Dillons Bakery for 36 years. He also owned and operated the Hamburger Palaces in Hutchinson for 10 years. He was a charter member of Bible Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy.

He married Inota Marie Gilley on Dec. 9, 1956 in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: sons, Gary Shuff, Jr., and wife Karen, Inman and Garland Shuff and wife Sarah, Wichita; a daughter, Gaynota Hendrickson and husband Guy, Hutchinson; a brother, Leon Shuff, Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Aaron LaRoy Hendrickson, Tessa Lynne Hendrickson and Madeleine Shuff; and three pets, Frazzle, WaCheeta and Kawayba.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Edward, Norman and Stanley; and a sister, Elda Worrell.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, in Fairlawn Burial Park, with Pastor Mike Simmons officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Elliott's, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
