Obituary

Geneve "Bobbie" C. Mauck, 96, passed away Aug. 28, 2011.

She was born May 31, 1915, in the Fair Oaks community of rural Jasper County, Ind., to Earnest L. and Pearl (Lilves) Comer.

She moved to Harlingen, Texas in 1949, to Noel, Mo. in 1963, and then to Kansas in 2005.

She married Harold Mauck Sr. on Sept. 14, 1936, and they were happily married for nearly 65 years until his death in 2001.

Geneve is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold Jr. and Jan Mauck of Hutchinson. Geneve was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Mauck Sr.; her sister, Vivian (Betty) Harris; and brother-in-law, Maurice Harris.

Geneve was a homemaker, business owner, and during WWII an ammunition plant worker, where she assembled hand grenades and stirred liquid TNT that she poured into shell casings. She was a member of Noel United Methodist Church in Missouri and a recent attendee of Haven United Methodist Church in Kansas. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and Daughters of the American Revolution. In accordance with Geneve's wishes, there will be a private graveside service at the family plot in Remington, Ind.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to her favorite charity, the American Cancer Society, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
