Genevieve Joan 'Genny' Montgomery, 86, died Monday, September 24, 2018. She was born March 11, 1932, in Dighton, the daughter of John Wesley and Gladys Emaline (Conner) Shull.
She was a 1950 graduate of Dighton High School and Sid's Cosmetology in 1983. Genny had been a beautician for J C Penney's, a machine operator for Consolidated Mfg., and a meter reader for KP&L.
Genny was an avid golfer, mainly at Carey Park.
On August 30, 1962, she married Charles Newton Montgomery in Dighton. He survives. Also surviving are: children, Diana Loveall and husband Mickey of Salina, Doug Wallace of Topeka, Darlene Friesen of Hutchinson, Denise Frye and husband Randy of Lawrence, Darcy Boor and husband Mark of Salina; sister, Rosalie Wallace of Dighton; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Harry, Jack, Don, Marvin 'Joe', Jim, Carroll 'Homer' Shull; and sister, Virginia Shull.
Visitation with family present will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Elliott Chapel. Private inurnment will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
