Genevieve May Oden's Obituary
Genevieve May Oden, 96, died May 8, 2012, at Hospice House. She was born Jan. 22, 1916, in Geneseo, to Edward and Mary (Peters) Asling.
She married Roy Daniel Oden on April 21, 1935, in Hutchinson.
She was a member of Mitchell United Methodist Chapel and United Methodist Women. A homemaker, Genevieve loved to bake and tend to her flower garden.
Survivors include: her husband of 77 years, Roy, of the home; a son, Larry Oden and his wife Terry, Hutchinson; six grandchildren, Debra Lundry, Hutchinson, Linda Porter, Hutchinson, Sonya Bell, Oklahoma City, Charles Bell, Hutchinson, Mia Wilson and husband Billy, South Hutchinson, Tricia Radke and husband Daniel, Hutchinson; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn Bell, and two brothers, Ervil and Elmer Asling.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Amy Foster officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to Mitchell United Methodist Chapel or Hospice House, in care of the mortuary.
