George A. Roberts, 66, died Dec. 2, 2008, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

He was born March 2, 1942, in Wichita, the son of Arnold E. and Laurine Bennett Roberts. He was a Certification Inspector at Cessna Textron, Wichita for over 18 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

On Aug. 20, 1961, He married Lola Gayle Gibson in Medicine Lodge. She died Nov. 18, 1992.

Survivors include: two daughters, Jenny Corwin and husband, Greg, Hutchinson, and Vonda Zongker and husband Bret, Plevna; father-in-law, Estel Gibson, Wichita; three grandchildren, Stacy Corwin, Hutchinson, Christopher Zongker, Manhattan, and Brenda Zongker, Plevna; and Fiancé, Daylene Beckner, Bentley. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Patricia Vierthaler, and mother-in-law, Lola Gibson.

Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Keith Dellenbach presiding. Friends may sign the guest book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, at the mortuary, the casket will remain closed. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with military honors by the Navy Honor Guard.
