George L. Boggs, 94, of Hutchinson, died February 24, 2018, at Brookdale of Hutchinson. He was born November 26, 1923, in Augusta, to Jesse W. and Dora R. (Catron) Boggs.
George proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was a crew supervisor with Kansas Power and Light of Lyons, for over 40 years before his retirement. George was a member of the NRA, Kansas Rifle Association, and was a volunteer firefighter for the Lyons Fire Department.
On June 16, 1947, he married Virginia Mae Secrest.
Survivors include: daughter, Sandra Griffin, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife; sons, Ralph and Stephen Boggs; and a daughter, Deborah Gobble.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at Elliott Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
