George Edward "Eddie" O'Neal, 77, of Hutchinson, died Jan. 4, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

He was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Wichita, Kan., to George D. and Maggie L. Barnes O'Neal.

He was a lifetime resident of Hutchinson. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a maintenance operator for the City of Hutchinson Waste Water Treatment Facility, retiring in 1995.

He married Doris "Darlene" Cooper in 1956, in Hutchinson. She died Nov. 15, 1978. He later married Norma J. Anderson Sept. 29, 1979, in Hutchinson. She died Dec. 21, 2007.

Survivors include: daughters, Teresa Hall of Hendersonville, Tenn., Sara O'Neal of San Diego, Calif., Sally Dilli and husband Kevin of Hutchinson, Jenny Porting of Partridge, Kan.; stepson, James Leming and wife Diana of LaCompton, Kan.; stepdaughters, Kathy Heeb and husband Jeff of Lawrence, Kan., Karen Bost and husband Harvey of Lawrence, Kan., Jane Esisenbart and husband Ken of Lawrence, Kan.; sisters, Kathy Sheppard and husband Mike and Darlene Daines and companion Jack; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ryan O'Neal; sister, Wanda Norris.

Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to Victory in the Valley, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.
