George W. Ensz, 91, died December 18, 2013, at Pleasant View Home in Inman. He was born April 5, 1922, in rural Inman, Kansas, to Herman and Lizzie Wiens Ensz.

He married Dorothy May Schierling in Newton, Kansas, on August 13, 1947. She died on April 6, 2013. George was a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68 and also served in the United States Army and fought in World War II where he earned a Purple Heart.

Survivors include: a daughter, Sandra Culver and husband Lorin, Wichita, Kansas; son, Stanley Ensz and wife Terry, Olathe, Kansas; brothers, Clarence Ensz, Hutchinson, Kansas, and Wayne Ensz, California; six grandchildren; and16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Vernie, Alvin, Harold, Ike, Abe, Jake Ensz, and a sister Susan Froese.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Brad Riley presiding. Burial will be in Buhler Municipal Cemetery. Friends may sign the book today through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, and visitation will be from noon until 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until service time on Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
