George W. Lower, 68, died Nov. 4, 2005, at Hwy 50 and Scott Blvd, as a result of a vehicle accident.
He was born Dec. 2, 1936, in Hardtner, the son of Charles Jacob and Bonnis Elizabeth Crisler Lower. He graduated from Wichita State University in 1970. A resident of Hutchinson, moving from Oklahoma City, he was a Quality Assurance Engineer for AT&T at Oklahoma City, retiring in September 1996.
He belonged to the Knights Templer of York Rite, Hutchinson, Scottish Rite and Midian Shrine of Wichita, Reno County Shrine Club, Scooter Patrol, Ark Valley Flyers, the Reno County Amateur Radio Association, and was Past Master of the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 AF & AM.
On June 3, 1956, he married LaWanda Carrol Krauter at Kingman. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Greg, Independence, and Roger, Hutchinson; his mother, Bonnis E. Lower, Kingman; a brother, Charles Jr., Kingman; two sisters, Elizabeth Madden, Kingman, and Charlene McVey, Enid, Okla.; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a son, Larry.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Revs. Richard Zimmerman and Joe Withrow presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Abbyville Cemetery, with Masonic Rites conducted by the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 A.F. & A.M..
