Obituary

Georgia Elmo Ditgen, 86, died May 1, 2007 at Wesley Towers, Hester Care Center.

She was born April 3, 1921 in Sterling, the daughter of Vernon Oren and Lucy Belle Ferrier Caywood. She graduated in 1938 from Sterling High School. A longtime Reno County resident, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to Westbrook Baptist Church, the Christian Women's Club and the V.I.P. Group of Westbrook Baptist Church, all in Hutchinson, the P.R.N. Club and the Cameo Club, both in Nickerson.

On April 3, 1941 she married Earl Norris Ditgen in Sterling. He survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jeffrey and wife Pam, Hutchinson and Brian and wife Christy, Mission Viejo, Calif.; a daughter Julie Grieman, Hutchinson; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Caywood; two sisters, Verdena Edwards and Doris White; and a son-in-law Bill Grieman.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Westbrook Baptist Church, with Pastor Andy Addis presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to Westbrook Baptist Church or Hospice Care of Kansas, both in care of the funeral home.
