Geraldine P. "Gerry" Johnson, of Hutchinson, 93, died April 29, 2016, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Murray, Iowa, to Charles W. and Theola (Bott) Arnold.

Gerry graduated from Murray High School. She worked for Cessna as a key punch operator and retired in November 1987. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir for 55 years, was the choir librarian for 33 years, member of DUO Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. In addition to being active in her church, she was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary and Hutchinson Travel Club. Gerry was an avid Blue Dragons basketball fan and attended every NJCAA basketball tournament since 1958. Gerry also enjoyed attending the Hutchinson Community Concerts.

On Jan. 5, 1944, she married Robert C. "Bob" Johnson in Murray, Iowa. He died Oct. 4, 1977. Gerry is survived by: son, Michael L. Johnson and wife Linda of Post Falls, Idaho; daughter, Pat Hudson and husband Dave of Girard; grandsons, Mark Hudson and wife Juliana of Springfield, Mo., Matthew Johnson and wife Linda of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; great-grandchildren, Greer Hudson and baby Hudson on the way of Springfield, Mo. and Emily Johnson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; sister, Twyla Jeter of Murray, Iowa; special friends, Bill Anshutz and wife Kris of Hutchinson, and Linda Bertholf and husband Terry of Olathe. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Arnold.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 17th and Main, Hutchinson, with Reverends Jim Rhaesa and Michael McGuire officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday at the mortuary. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
