Geraldine L. Rooney, 90, died March 31, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She was born March 3, 1919, in Lincoln Neb., the daughter of Lee E. and Neta Haviland Tatum.

She has been a Hutchinson resident since 1985. She was a homemaker, retired bookkeeper, and payroll clerk for Chevrolet Co. She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church formerly active in Ladies Altar Society St. Veronica's Circle, of the church.

She Married John Adams in Neb. He preceded her in death. She later married Charles Condon, he preceded her in death. On Nov. 8, 1985, she married John A. "Jack" Rooney, Jr., in Baton Rouge, La. He died Nov. 16, 1998.

Survivors include: son, Lee Adams and wife Juanita, Hutchinson; daughter Kathy Kittle and husband Bud, Sterling; step-children, Charles Rooney, Colo., Rodney Rooney, La., John Rooney III and wife Debbie, Texas, and Colleen Rooney, La.; sister, Betty Einung, Va.; 28 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Sonja Nielsen, brother, Deane Tatum, and sister, Maxine May.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Dusty M. Cowell officiating. Friends may call 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gable Cemetery and Mausoleum.
