Gertrude L. Dame, 92, died July 10, 2007 at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Oct. 19, 1914, in Eureka, the daughter of Walter and Lena Allis Evans. She was a Sylvia resident for 55 years before moving to Hutchinson in 1996. She attended Virgil High School. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, Order of Eastern Star, St. John, Square Dance Club and Elmdale Senior Center.
On Jan. 25, 1932, she married Louie Irvin Dame in El Dorado. He died April 30, 2002.
Survivors include: four sons, Roland Dame, McPherson, Rex Dame and wife, Kathy, Port Saint Lucie, Fla., Max Dame and wife, Elaine, Gainesville, Fla., and Phillip Dame and wife, Cathy, Norman, Okla.; two daughters, Lila Beltz, Larned, and Linda Creech and husband Larry, Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law, Helen Dame Lyden, Humboldt; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: a son, Richard Dame, a son-in-law, Earl Beltz; a daughter-in-law, Sue Dame; three brothers, Otta, Ernest "Dutch" and "Skip" Evans; and three sisters, Elsie Ballard, Jessie Campbell and June Ross.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until service time Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Sylvia Cemetery.
