Gilbert B. Clouse, 80, died on May 30, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born June 8, 1935, to George Joseph and Elsie (Garnet) Clouse in Murdock, KS.
Gilbert served in the United States Army, and was an avid lifetime farmer and stockman by trade, but was proud of the fact that he could feed over 150 families a year from farming.
Gilbert married Carol Elaine McAtee. She died Jan. 21, 1997. He later married Patricia L. Buchanan on May 11, 2002, in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: children, William Clouse and wife Elisha of Guilford, IN, Edith Castillo and husband Ascencion of Sylvia, Connie Maxwell of Kansas City, MO, Rick Clouse of Wichita, Donald Clouse and wife Macarea of Hutchinson; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; step-children, Connie Shawver and husband Chris of Wichita, Daniel Buchanan and wife Shaun of Newton; sisters-in-law, Ruth Clouse of Kingman, and Mary Clouse of Chapel Hill, NC; many nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Bo, Abby, and Mollie. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel Clouse; four brothers, and three sisters.
Rosary will be 10:30 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Father Ned J. Blick and Deacon Clay Kimbro presiding. Burial will follow in Langdon Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to rosary time Thursday, all at Elliott Mortuary.
