Gladys M. Luman, 96, died June 10, 2013, at Dillon Living Center. She was born Oct. 28, 1916, in Pittsburg to Garnett Wilberth and Marietta Mildred (Kendig) Martin. She graduated from Madison High School in 1935 and Salt City Business College in 1937. She was a homemaker.
On Oct. 24, 1942, she married Charles Wilbur Luman in Hutchinson. He died Sept. 27, 1969. Survivors include: two sons, Richard Luman and wife Mary of Overland Park and Larry Luman and wife Mary of Hutchinson; daughter, Marcia Johnson of Waco, Texas; son-in-law, John Graves of Grandview, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Donna Graves; brother, Tom Martin; half-sister, Violet Williams.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at Elliott Chapel with the Rev. Dr Kim Biery officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Dillon Living Center, in care of the mortuary.
