Gladys Marie Malecki, 96, died May 11, 2015, at Sterling Presbyterian Manor. She was born Oct. 18, 1918, in El Dorado, Kan., to Wraymont and Ila (Tillet) Kelley.
She was a housewife and a telephone operator. Gladys attended St. Teresa's Catholic Church and was a past member of E.H.U. and Women's Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars. On Nov. 22, 1947, she married Teddy Stanley Malecki in Hutchinson. He died Oct. 17, 1978. Survivors include: son, Bruce Malecki and wife Pat of Hutchinson; daughters, Linda Justus and husband Bill of Hutchinson, Lee Meyer and husband Scott of Berryville, Va.; four grandchildren, a step-grandson, 11 great-grandchildren, a step-great-granddaughter, a great-great-grandchild; brother, Eugene Kelley of Hutchinson; sister, Dorothy McCord. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Teddy; and sister, Bonnie Meyers.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Bob Shelton presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
