Obituary

Gladys Snowbarger, 86, died Jan. 4, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.

She was born Nov. 18, 1919, in Pierre, S.D., the daughter of O.J. and Margaret Schroder Moran. She graduated from Sylvia High School in 1937. A longtime Reno County resident, raised in the Sylvia Community, she was a homemaker. Prior to World War II, she worked at Kress's at Hutchinson, and during the war she worked at an airplane manufacturing plant in California.

She belonged to Eastwood Church of Christ.

On Sept. 10, 1940, she married Everett Snowbarger in Sylvia. He survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Richard and his wife, Pamela, Richardson, Texas; four grandchildren, Tugg Snowbarger, San Diego, Calif., Troy Snowbarger and wife, Tabitha Snowbarger, serving in the Peace Corps in East Timor, Tadd Snowbarger and wife, Cami, Jenks, Okla., and Stacie Mallory and husband, Bryan, Raymore, Mo.; and a great-granddaughter, Leah Snowbarger.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis; six brothers, Alfred, Lester, Floyd, Alvin, Earl and Merlin Moran; a sister, Viola Bright; and a daughter-in-law, Pam S. Snowbarger.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Eastwood Church of Christ, with Ernie Bishop and David Tappe presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
