Gladys J. Thrasher, 80, died March 27, 2008, at her home in Arlington. She was born Feb. 16, 1928, in Tryon, Okla., the daughter of Euel Ivis and Mabel Miller Parkhurst. She attended Castleton Schools at Castleton. A resident of Arlington, she was a homemaker and worked for many years as a cook in food service at the Arlington Schools.

On July 22, 1947, she married Clinton D. Thrasher in Greensburg. He died April 11, 1992.

Survivors include: a son, Clint D. Thrasher, Arlington; two daughters, Kay Sipe and her husband Richard, Arlington, and Fay Green and her husband Barry, Russell; two brothers, Bill Parkhurst, Hutchinson, and Albert Parkhurst, Shadyside, Ohio; a sister, Jessie Munday, Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Melvin Walton presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2008, at Elliott's. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday evening March 31, 2008, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery.
