Gladys M. Yoder, 86, died February 10, 2023, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born January 12, 1937, in Hutchinson, to Earl and Mae (Brinkmeier) Schletzbaum.
Gladys attended Countryside Baptist Church. She worked with the Fine Arts at the Kansas State Fair for many years. After retiring from bookkeeping at Hageman Accounting, Gladys learned beadwork. She made beautiful bracelets and necklaces. She enjoyed being a food judge for county fairs all over Kansas. Gladys was well known for judging food and was requested every year. Gladys was an avid cookbook collector. Gladys was very active. She always made an effort to attend her grandchildren's events. Gladys was loving and cared for others. She was a great mom and grandma.
On August 25, 1957, she married Harold L. Yoder, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. They shared over 49 years of marriage, prior to his passing on January 21, 2007.
Gladys is survived by: her grandchildren, Sarah (Josh) Cowan, McPherson, Matthew Ford, Hutchinson, Kylie Ford, Hutchinson, Patrick (Kristen) Yoder, Hutchinson; brother, John (Ruth) Schletzbaum, Washington; sister, Caroline (Ray) Smucker, Plevna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; son, Jim Yoder; daughter, Sharon Ford; grandson, Justin Yoder; and sister, Janet Farney.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2023, at Countryside Baptist Church, 819 W. 30th Ave. Hutchinson, KS 67502, with Pastor Ron Kyker officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Countryside Baptist Church, Hutchinson, and Hereditary Neurological Disease Centre, Wichita, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
