Glen L. Fondaw, 73, died Aug. 5, 2011, at his home in South Hutchinson.
He was born Sept. 27, 1937, in Hutchinson, the son of Don A. and Shirley L. Schaefer Fondaw.
Glen served in the Air Force and later retired from Reno County Public Works. He also enjoyed being a member of the Coffee Club.
On June 18, 1962, he married Sheila A. Bush in Dallas, Texas. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Glen L. Fondaw II and wife Zoraida, Wichita; a daughter, Tina M. Peevyhouse and husband L.D., Hutchinson; half sister, Jane Trenary, Hutchinson; two stepsisters, Jackie Orr, Hutchinson and Joan Shotton, Ponca City, Okla. and four grandchildren, Alex, Elise and Jason Fondaw and Grant Peevyhouse.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don A. Fondaw, mother, Shirley L. Houston, stepmother, Bess Fondaw and a stepbrother, Kendall Smiley.
Glen donated his body to the University of Kansas School of Medicine. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Knights of Columbus, Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011 at 4 p.m. A pot luck dinner is included in the celebration, with meat and tableware provided. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army in care of Elliott Mortuary.
