Obituary

Glen V. Rodgers, 88, died Nov. 8, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

He was born Jan. 22, 1921, in Licking, Mo., the son of Charles and Harriett "Hattie" Doty Sall Rodgers.

He was a 1938 graduate of Central High School, Licking, Mo. He served in World War II as a Seaman 1st Class with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 to 1945. He was a salesman with Conklin Cars, retiring after 39 years.

Glen was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ and the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M.

On June 29, 1950, he married Joan P. Stewart in Ponca City, Okla. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Bob, San Diego, Calif., and Mike and wife Jackie, Palm Dale, Calif.; daughter, Kathy Palmer and husband Brad, Hutchinson; daughter-in-law, Hope Rodgers, Beloit; sister, Florence Stone, Green Valley, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, Brett, Julie, Sean, Joel, and Nicki Rodgers, Devin and Jourdan Palmer, Nellie Hill, Elizabeth and Samantha Rodgers; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepson, Richard Rodgers and a brother, Walter Sall.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Eastwood Church of Christ, with Jimie Wray-Mead presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be made to Eastwood Church of Christ, in care of the mortuary. The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care shown by the Good Samaritan Staff.
