Obituary

The family of Glen Allan Willesen, 72, is saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, June 15, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan.

Glen was born in Hutchinson, Kan., on April 15, 1936, to Charles E. and Leona Jessie Agneta (Ahrendsen) Willesen. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and married Vicki Sue Beyer on August 2, 1969, in Hutchinson.

Glen was a toolmaker for Cessna, General Dynamics and Eaton Corporation until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and was an active volunteer with Reins of Hope therapeutic riding program. He belonged to the Eaton Gun Club and was a frequenter of Skaets coffee shop.

Glen is survived by his sister Janine Osborn, wife Vicki, daughter Tori Willett and husband James, daughter Toni Hansen and husband Jason, daughter Megan Willesen and husband Scott Born, daughter Mandi Willesen, grandchildren Brandi and Ashli Cain, Amanda, Winter, Trinity, and Dakotah Willett, Abigail Hansen, Chauncey Willesen, Alexander Born, and great-grandson Damian Hurt.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Leona Willesen, and by his brother Milton Willesen.

The family has requested an informal memorial service, to be held at Elliott Mortuary on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 11 am. The family also requests casual attire. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Reins of Hope and Faith United Methodist Church.
