Obituary

Glenda R. Janner, 83, died April 28, 2019, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson.  She was born October 27, 1935, to Glenn Wolfe and Ruth (Williams) Wolfe.  Glenda was raised by her stepfather, Don Button and her mother, Ruth Williams Button.

Glenda graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1953.  She retired as a travel agent for First National Travel Agency, Hutchinson.  Glenda enjoyed playing Bridge, traveling, and attending Music Theatre in Wichita.  She loved sports, especially attending the NJCAA and Big 12 basketball tournaments.  Glenda also enjoyed volunteering.  She was very active in the Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps when her three sons were involved with the musical organization.  In addition, Glenda was a member of the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and volunteered in the gift shop at the hospital. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Toys For Tots, and the Salvation Army Toy Lift, wrapping gifts for prison inmate's children.   Glenda was a member of PEO Chapter D and Church of the Holy Cross, where she was involved in the Altar Society.

On May 27, 1955, she married George T. 'Bud' Janner III, in Hutchinson, at St. Teresa Catholic Church.  He died August 13, 2009, after sharing 54 years of marriage with Glenda.

Glenda is survived by:  sons, Bill and wife Colleen of Shawnee, David and wife Sharri of Overland Park, Wayne and wife Jean of Olathe; grandchildren, Scott, Cale, Hillary, Hayley, Dane, Zach; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents; stepfather; and in-laws, George and Lois Janner.

Cremation has taken place.  Parish Rosary will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m., both at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson, with Father Michael Kerschen officiating.  Private family inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.  Friends may sign the book at Elliott Mortuary.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church of the Holy Cross or HCC Endowment Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS  67501.
