Glenis Lorene Heldenbrand, 89, passed away June 1, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born May 20, 1926, in Langdon, the daughter of Claude and Edna (McCain) Banks.
On Oct. 12, 1946, she married her high school sweetheart, Eugene Heldenbrand, in Great Bend.
She was a lifetime resident of Reno County, moving to Hutchinson in 1947. During her career, she worked at First National Bank, Hutchinson Naval Base, Cessna, and Downtown Dodge. In Jan. 1987, she retired after 14 years as Reno County Clerk. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 66 years.
She is survived by: her husband, Eugene of Hutchinson; daughter, Kay Gordon and husband Greg of Hutchinson; grandson, Ryan Gordon and wife Joah of Chicago, Ill.; granddaughters, Amber Goetz and husband Tyler of Ypsilanti, Mich., Ashley Farney and husband David of Wilson; and a great-grandson, Lucas Gordon of Chicago, Ill. Other survivors are: niece, Karen Gaskill; and nephews, Larry Brown, Bud Poorman and Mike Poorman. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Curtis Brown; sisters, Zella Brown, Verla Poorman, and Lotus Brown; nephews, Ron Brown and Gary Poorman.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Reverend Jeff Slater officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
