Obituary

Glenn Harvey Love, 97, passed away Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  He was born August 7, 1916 near Partridge, the son of Robert "Roy" Harvey and Lora Winifred Anderson Love.

He was a 1934 graduate of Partridge High Schol, farmed several years south of Partridge, stopped farming and then went to school at Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia, graduating in 1948 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  In Kansas he taught hight school at Burdick and then Thayer.
On October 10, 1954 he married Viola Elizabeth Beauchamp at Emporia. They moved to south Texas where Glenn taught 6th grade at LaFeria, Texas,
for 25 years, retiring in 1982.  He also managed and cared for a small grapefruit orchard.  Here, Glenn and his wife raised their three sons.  After retirement they moved to Johnson, KS where they helped them with farming.

He is survived by their three sons, Fred of Johnson, Bill and his wife Gayle of Madison, WI, Dave of Johnson; a nephew, Tim Haney and wife Leslie of Mission Viejo, CA; and a niece, Rebecca Seeley and husband Harold of Battle Ground, WA.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Viola, his parents, and a sister, Norma Jean Haney.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Partridge Community Church with Reverend R. Samuel Askew presiding.  Burial will be in Partridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
